Protestant pastors seemingly have neither given attention to nor engaged in theological discussion concerning what impact such radically differing images may have.Research was conducted using a literature survey along with a survey of commercially available images of Jesus. An over-arching historical survey was provided of how art and theology influenced each other beginning with Old Testament prohibitions against the fabrication of images to the wealth of Jesus images available in 2010. Based on the research it was concluded that the image of Jesus and how he is portrayed does have an impact on how an individual understands the person and work of Jesus.A paradigm was developed that enables a pastor to analyze popular visual images of Jesus circulating in the United States and to analyze their theological significance so that they can be more intentional about their own use of images of Jesus and more aware of the ways an individual's Christology may be influenced by the broader visual cultural environment. The model also serves as an excellent teaching tool to help a congregant understand the Christological implications of various images of Jesus."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"identifier_tesim":["https://www.proquest.com/dissertations-theses/how-christologies-may-be-shaped-broader-visual/docview/742415031/se-2"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Lancaster Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["77231467-10ce-4737-858a-8cc38e70a4f9"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1851873244233072640,"timestamp":"2025-12-18T18:52:30.265Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:02:34Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:05:11Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d5ba27e2-d107-4420-909b-487e9bc1cafe","accessControl_ssim":["c1f90b3e-d841-43a3-995a-4bac9a663110"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Building a bridge from the modern woman's ministry to a postmodern world"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T15:02:34Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:14:30Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["dca8ecbd-9a02-4a7b-b7b6-04086b60c4d1"],"hasLease_ssim":["bfb9ba82-812b-4052-a873-677c5c8ffdc3"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Alice P Mathews"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barbara D Feil"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Christianity and culture","Postmodernism","Women clergy"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Postmodernism has deconstructed modern ways of doing church and woman's ministry and this thesis examines what women's ministry will become in a postmodern context. The current postmodern quest for truth invites preachers to explore collaborative models of discovering and proclaiming truth that will further enable preachers to rediscover a voice that is both meaning full and relevant in a postmodern world."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5a6e4a36-5801-4bff-8e61-86d7489efb4a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799715323449966592,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T01:44:40.817Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:13:36Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:21:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"f670d396-37cf-4d40-8f89-e3e799daeebf","accessControl_ssim":["7ff319fc-d3a7-490f-a11e-6295d95657c1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Change or die! This report explores the differences in modern and postmodern cultures and, using theological and biblical foundations, outlines specific characteristics of leaders necessary to lead in this postmodern time, as well as offers similarities pastors and other church leaders will exhibit in their postmodern leadership in their congregations. Research for this report included conversations with three pastors and five elders over three two-hour sessions. The conversations were organized around content, cultural assumptions, and methodology, resulting in four principles of elder training in the postmodern era."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128648672083968,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:03:09.618Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:12:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:40:40Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"d42a7ada-6ee7-4b78-81f9-b06989a5ae97","accessControl_ssim":["bc42c48e-591d-4551-8af5-e2b41bb9e8af"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Case studies of leadership practices for leading cultural transformation within church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:12:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:11:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["f8b30af0-24da-4a01-a4c1-f1ee29f4371f"],"hasLease_ssim":["8bb1ec28-22b4-4285-91ec-ab0e1885bd9d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Barry D Jones"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Heath E Marion"],"publisher_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Organizational change","Congregations","Christianity and culture","Social groups"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis of this dissertation is that there is an association between key leadership practices that allow leaders to transform organizational church culture. The body of the dissertation is divided into three parts. A literature review examines literature associate with leadership, change management, church health and growth, organizational culture, and biblical studies so that key practices can be determined. The research procedure section defines the case study methods, criteria, questions, and reliability of the research. The case studies themselves demonstrate the key leadership practices used by three pastors to bring about culture transformation within each respective church. There are three key practices for leading cultural transformation within churches developed in this dissertation. First, there is an association between the leadership practices of identifying the current cultural philosophies and overall cultural transformation in the church. Second, there is an association between the leadership practices of disrupting the existing cultural philosophies and overall cultural transformation in the church. Third, there is an association between the leadership practice of freezing new cultural philosophies and overall cultural transformation in the church. When each leadership practice is understood and implemented organizational cultural transformation can occur."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131012258856961,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:40:43.710Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":9,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
