The project studied a Third World church that serves as a model for Haymarket Baptist Church, helping it to experience another culture in order to see its own more clearly. This dissertation examines current literature on Christian corporate worship as well as literature describing current cultural characteristics in the United States.  A six-week series of worship services was conducted incorporating the results of the study.  The services are then evaluated to determine if they have been culturally sensitive and ministry-effective. When Christians gather as an interpretive community of faith to examine culture and relate the significance of the Bible to their life situation, ethnic Christian assertions of belief and practice can be formulated.  Methodology for the task of ethnic theologizing involves the examination of a given people group by Christians within that group deriving theological statments from key informant descriptions of traditional beliefs and practices and biblical truths related to the same subject matter.
