The author led a process of engagement with four churches to support the new church with their gifts, four with their presence and prayer, and four with their service and witness. While conducting a series of meetings with clergy and denominational leaders, the idea of building a collaborative network of United Methodist Churches that can be the foundation and support of a new church wasn't totally possible. At the time of the fieldwork the researcher had been unchurched for over three years. As the unchurched demographic continues to grow, their reasons for severing ties with their local churches are explored. The hypothesis espousers that interacting with the unchurched will provide insights into ways to spiritually engage them. Fifteen unchurched women were interviewed for this qualitative, ethnographic study. A model was proposed to tackle this issue. Two major findings from the process are transferable across cultures. Both the scripture and history support the holistic transformation of the Heart, Hand and Head. The model proposed that ministry activities iterate through four steps: continual feedback, communal reflection, specific action, and effective adjustment. He conducted case studies by way of interviews to determine whether members of his church perceived this connection between preaching and cultural formation. They met for eleven sessions of four hours over twelve months. A pre and post 360 survey, correspondence, field notes and session transcripts provided data that indicated positive development of the participants' missional leadership capacities. This project examined the initiation tradition of the two tribes to identify elements that the church could use to make the Christian faith more meaningful to them. The author used seminars and multiple intervention tools with selected members of the tribes. This paper will examine the challenges the church currently faces in reaching out to Hindu background believers (HBBs) and suggest means through which the church can improve its efforts at evangelization, by taking greater note of the Hindu religious milieu and exercising greater cultural sensitivity. It will examine how the problem of differing social norms that have emerged between Hindus and Christians can be overcome and how certain tenets of Hinduism can be adopted as a way of accurately conveying the gospel while others will have to be revised or discarded for evangelism to be effective. The wider context of evangelism in Malabar is studied through a literature review, visits to the area and interviews with those who are in active ministry in Malabar. The author used a questionnaire to gain information from HBBs in Malabar.
