The context of the project is the 'Iglesia Filadelfia en el Ecuador' (Philadelphia Church in Ecuador) -- IFE.  The research uses a threefold method: biblical -- the New Testament; theological -- the doctrine of the universal priesthood of all believers; and typological -- the contextual ethic of the church and its environment. The dissertation draws on the writer's experiences as a Rotuman working with Rotuman, English and Fijian speaking congregations in Fiji and Australia.    Methodologically, it pursues a social analysis of the community's culture and faith through interviews with people in different places.  It also describes the performance of live cultural events with worship.
