Rapid urbanization, unprecedented economic prosperity giving rise to a new middle-class, tied together with the adoption of the one-child policy in 1981 have created a new set of challenges to church leaders seeking to reach the new generation for Christ. The traditional house church, born in persecution from the government, with its emphasis on separation from the world and zealous personal piety, is no longer able to effectively reach the new generation with the gospel. Twelve couples were assembled. Data was collected through semi-structured interviews with them. The recorded interviews were transcribed and analyzed using the constant comparative analysis method.Four themes emerged from the analysis: trustworthy pastor, ready participants, effective program, and complementary practices. The purpose of this study was to explore how transplanted vocational ministers developed a sense of belonging to the city. The study utilized a qualitative design using semi-structured interviews and the data was analyzed using the constant comparative method. The author states that ordination is only for those who received a divine call from God to serve publicly in the holy ministry of the word of sacraments. Today, what is commonly called an 'elder' is in reference to laymen appointed to secure the congregation in its temporal affair and to assist the pastor in the administrative tasks. In scripture the most common titles for the holy ministry are elder, overseers, and pastors. These three titles are interchangeable (Eph. 4:11; Acts 20:28-31; 1 Pet. 5:1-4). The author promotes the value of ordination for pastors. Elders are not ordained, but appointed to assist pastors with the administrative of the local congregations. The inquiry built on the common ground for unity, offered an experience of cohesion for the leaders, facilitated relationship building and unveiled a story of their church in new light. It showed that Appreciative Inquiry can be an effective means for crossing sub-group boundaries and intercultural barriers. Nine ARMBA received a five point Likert scale survey for their adult parishioners to complete. The survey included three sections: demographics, discovery, and an evaluation of the study. Thirty-three individuals completed the survey. The overall results were favorable.
