The basic material of this course was the life and teachings of Dietrich Bonhoeffer, especially his emphasis on christological understanding. This project was conducted during an eight-week, two-hour seminar in the local church setting.  The class method involved lectures followed by suggested discussion questions and a final evaluation. The study combines insights from political theology and political systems theory and establishes through questionnaire method that the missionaries are ambivalent about the use of violence as an instrument of change in the social process. The results of this study are incorporated in further theological reflection.  The concluding chapter outlines a proposed model for future church relations programs.  This model consists of seven foundational principles and five practical suggestions. Taking seriously both the delphi study and the Lutheran doctrine of the two kingdoms, the model challenges the agency to engage in church relations as a theological task which requires political strategy.
