He heard about a great spiritual harvest in the villages of Tanzania, and wondered if the cities might prove to be responsive as well.  After completing misisonary training he designed a project which trained forty village pastors in urban church planting and discipleship.  The pastors were trained and two new churches were started through the use of evangelistic teams. In recent years, there has been a greater emphasis on Hispanic ministries in this region which has resulted in the establishment of new local churches.  There are six congregations that serve Hispanic families.  A common problem affects the growth and development of these churches.  The Conference has not provided adequate training for the pastors and lay persons of the congregations.  In this study five of these churches engage in a six-session training project aimed at motivating the participants for local mission.  Every session begins with a keynote address followed by a question and answer period and three different discussion workshops.  Each workshop deals with a specific area of concern: missiology, Christian education, or Christian stewardship. The study provides a missiological framework based on biblical imperatives from the book of Acts.  It refers to socio-cultural realities as well as denominational factors in the life of these congregations. The church has increased from a new work in August of 1980 to 10,000 participants by August of 1985.  Its growth has come about largely through the extraordinary ability of pastor Tim Timmons to communicate to young, unchurched middle-class Americans and the church's highly organized commitment to forming small group ministries to meet the various needs of those who attend the church. Four seminar sessions were presented to better establish theology as a foundation for building a new church. With the aid of A church planning questionnaire by Grayson L Tucker Jr, and added questions developed from the research, the writer measures his church against that of the rapidly growing new churches of the first three centuries.  Areas of similarity and weakness were identified.  The conclusions will hopefully help future new church developments as they begin and proceed with the work of building the body of
