While theological belief is relatively high, active participation in churches is relatively low in this city (comparing national studies). The case study research method was utilized in this thesis to analyze the effectiveness of a non-denominational church planting (Christ's Church) in Amarillo, Texas to reach unchurched baby boomers.  It was determined that the church planting reached many in this target group and that it is an effective means of assimilating the unchurched into the Body of Christ. A strategy being used in a Muslim country was put to a historical, theological, and missiological test.  During this evaluation process it was recognized that a biblical, theological base to shape the approach was not laid. Consequently the strategy was not resulting in glory being brought to God, and also missionaries were not working harmoniously.  Failure to agree theologically about mission results in failure to agree methodologically.
