The project enlists 12 members, from varied backgrounds, of Faith United Methodist Church in Indian Trail, North Carolina, to participate in eight study sessions exploring the ecclesiological purposes for which the church exists, the culture and needs of the community, and the missionary and evangelistic action required from the church. The project produces a foundational document that may serve as a guide to new church development in western North Carolina. Twenty-one members from an established congregation became the nucleus for the Augusta Church.  A ten-part church-planting plan was developed.  Northern New England church-planting vision progressed as the successful impact of the Augusta, Maine, church planting project unfolded.  The church plant has been successful following the church-plant plan. A study in the book of Acts, a literature search on church planting models and plans, a questionnaire and two case studies demonstrated the effectiveness of the model.
