Chapter two examine the team concept from a biblical perspective. An analysis of Nehemiah's and Jesus' teambuilding principles is included.  Chapter three investigates principles for managing teams from the perspective of the business world.  This research includes information on team leadership, recruiting, and training.  Chapter four summarizes the implementation of the outreach project at Coastal Community Church.  Details for developing this event in other churches are included. The strategy that has proven to be the most biblical and effective in accomplishing this task is that of establishing or planting churches that are reaching people with the gospel in cities, towns, and villages.  However, it takes called and gifted men to plant these churches and the reality is that 'the harvest is plentiful but the laborers are few' (Matthew 9:37). The purpose of this study is to discover how the Northern Illinois Presbytery of the Presbyterian Church in America can develop a growing pool of qualified church planters in order to increase the rate of successful church planting in that presbytery. Is there a way for this presbytery, as well as the Church at large, to increase the number of men qualified for church planting so that it might more effectively fulfill the Great Commission and respond to the growing needs and opportunities that exist in America, a nation that is in serious spiritual decline?  It is the finding of this paper that a Church Planting Apprenticeship Program built around the biblical model of mentoring that Jesus demonstrated with His own disciples has significant potential for developing this growing pool of qualified church planters.  Such a program might also make possible, by God's grace, the ignition of a church planting multiplication movement that will allow the church to reach the increasingly large numbers of unchurched and unbelieving people among all the different people groups of America. The research was a survey of the first pastors of non-racial/ethnic Presbyterian churches organized between 1982-1992. Based on the theological foundation of church planting provided by the Bible and the background of Chinese immigrants in the Greater Vancouver region, the purpose of this research is to explore the principles and methods of church planting  I  the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter one discusses the biblical basis of church planting, including God's plan for salvation, the mission of Jesus Christ, and the work of the Holy Spirit. Chapter two explores the different facets of church planting. Chapter three introduces the history, background, and social aspects of Chinese immigration in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter four investigates the process of church planting for three representative churches. Chapter five uses the Evangelical Formosan Church of Greater Vancouver as an example of church planting to analyze the present situation and future direction of church planting in the Greater Vancouver region. Chapter six deals with the actual process of church planting. Chapter seven analyzes the distribution of Chinese churches from the statistical data of the Chinese population in the Greater Vancouver region.
