A goal of 1.4 million dollars was established.  Two years were allotted to involve as many as possible of Canda's 300 churches and her 50,000 constituents.  The funds would build a church to seat 1,000 people and a Christian education unit.  All remaining funds would be used for on-going evangelistic programs.  This thesis explains the method of fund raising used and serves to model similar future endeavors.  We received 1.1 million dollars towards our goal. This  thesis is biographical in style as it tells the story of a people, a parish, and a process that gave birth to smaller communities of faith. Considerable attention is given to the core group who was primarily responsible for the study and formation of the base communities. Included in the training program are a two and one-half day seminar for church planters and their spouses, and a twelve-unit curriculum taught by the church planters to their respective core groups.  The researcher used a Likert Scale, and objective test, key informant field interviews, and field observations to evaluate the training program. A tri-fold methodology was employed: 1) conceptual-analysis of biblical and church growth principles relating to church planting; 2) demographic-a comparative demographic study of four target cities in light of the conceptual conclusions and opinions of zone pastors; and 3) attitudinal-an attitudinal survey conducted among southern tier area Nazarenes to measure beliefs and attitudes concerning the conceptual and demographic issues raised.  The project concludes with an extensive proposal for the Upstate New York District Nazarene Advisory Board. Most church planting ministries seek to establish mature churches that are autonomous. However, some are maintaining a relationship with daughter churches, exercising control over them as 'one church meeting in several locations'.  This phenomenon has been called a branch church or satellite church ministry.  This project examines the ministries of three influential Baptist churches that are involved in satellite church ministry. This is intriguing in the light of Baptist polity and the missiological principle of indigeneity.  The project is an attempt to discern the extent to which this method of ministry is transferrable for larger churches with metropolitan ministries.  Is it possible that the unity of a particular church may be maintained though the church meets in multiple locations?
