The two phases involved in meeting the project goals were that the project director extensively researched persecution and then developed an applicable training resource. The professional goals of this project were to increase the project director's knowledge of persecution and to increase his skill in developing a training resource. Expert evaluators validated the project. It assumes that healthy churches in urban Africa are both theologically and contextually reflective.  The project opens laying biblical foundations from Hebrew 12:23.  Contextual factors are then presented: urbanization, Maputo's history, globalization in Maputo, cultural contours, and a community analysis of one urban neighborhood.  Six contextual theology/ministry attempts are analyzed.  Fifteen theological institutions are summarized and the results of a survey of church planters are then presented. The author first examined the Missio Dei from a biblical and confessional perspective and then researched the confessional boundaries for the establishment of a Lutheran mission society in Michigan. The author conducted a series of interviews with several mission congregations planted since 2006. Comparing current mission models with the researched boundaries for Lutheran mission resulted in the discovery of a divergence between theology and practice. The researcher identified three areas that are central to this process: reproducible evangelism and discipleship, reproducible church planting, and reproducible leadership. The researcher studied the effect of short cycle multiplicative discipleship growth, rather than simple church incremental growth, focusing on instances where the pastor utilized the CPM methodology. The study employed a qualitative design, using semi-structured interviews with nine demographically diverse pastors from five different denominations. The unit of analysis was the method used for successful discipleship multiplication, and the data was analyzed using the constant comparative method. The purpose of this qualitative research study was to explore how converted British Asian Christians evaluate the role of the local church in its witness to the British Asian community.
