Questionnaires were sent to 34 churches, groups, or individuals around the world, who were involved in a small group ministry. Out of this research, several convictions grew which gave direction to our approach. The necessity of building discipleship of a corporate nature caused us to investigate the level of desire among previously 'discipled' people in the church. A Leadership Training Group Manual and two leadership training groups were developed. Nine couples and one individual were equipped for this ministry. Supervision of the growth group network, an integral part of the development, was achieved through regular evaluations of the growth group, and regular meetings with the growth group leaders."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Trinity Evangelical Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c654e922-76d0-4427-ac29-e286b7997781"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716797072539648,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:08:06.173Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:17:07Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:07:36Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6e39e845-2794-49f2-b7d7-3393884e95b6","accessControl_ssim":["cb53d7ee-5bd1-4e26-bb66-7bce090ea392"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study of the components of successful clusters in the Southern New Jersey Annual Conference"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:17:06Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:22:04Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["4be503c4-7870-4095-a035-9d962dbf23f4"],"hasLease_ssim":["d20796e2-7a84-4f6b-afcf-62152f841f1d"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["B Burns Brodhead"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David A Niessner"],"publisher_tesim":["Eastern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church group work","United Methodist Church","Social groups","Image (Theology)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The study investigates the clusters of the Southern New Jersey Conference to determine the factors that were present that helped them to continue to function. The project was carried out in the setting of a general hospital based alcoholic rehabilitation program. A group, led by a hospital chaplain, was set up to help patients work steps three, four, and five which are the spiritual core steps of Alcoholics Anonymous' twelve steps. The minister and the group work proved to be acceptable by and redemptive for the alcoholic patients."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31bd5819-b5a3-4928-96d5-b581f38b637b"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127071090540544,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:38:05.119Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:06:12Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:54:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1f678758-e025-4f39-938e-ff164e0588a5","accessControl_ssim":["51682c23-33ec-48e1-8ee0-f7858969ca49"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Organizing a support group for cancer patients and families in the local church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:06:11Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:04:02Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["389558b3-50a3-4e1f-8fff-2d5c75c868e2"],"hasLease_ssim":["1f74b048-b4c4-445b-94ea-9f3cd55e6f94"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["W Clark Gilpin","C William Bryan"],"year_tesim":["1984"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["William Karl Glaser"],"publisher_tesim":["Phillips Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Medicine--Religious aspects","Church group work","Trinity United Methodist Church (Hutchinson, Kan)","Cancer--Religious aspects--Christianity"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["Trinity United Methodist Church in Hutchinson, Kansas, has 2100 members, thirty-three of whom have cancer. To accomplish this purpose, the questionnaires were used with a select group of thirty people. This questionnaire was distributed before a worship service during Advent. Through the worship experience, sermon, and group discussions, all aspects of these liturgical seasons were covered. The preacher covered the historical and theological meaning of the seasons in the group discussions.
