Participants are encouraged to share their life stories using Biblical storytelling as a paradigm. Four seminars held in the fall of 1986 were designed to explore how people age and how adult children can cope effectively with their parents in the new relationship which aging creates. The seminars included one session on understanding the aging process, another on relating to aging parents, a third on caring for aging parents and a fourth on available community resources. The experimental group participated in a five hour training seminar.  Both groups took an objective test. Each member of the groups was evaluated as he or she led a decision-making encounter.  A comparison of the scores of the experimental and control groups was the basis of the project evaluation. An examination of Old Testament texts and commentators reveals that the meaning of the 'People of God' title remains the same in the Old and New Testament writings.  The application is determined by time and environment.  The charge 'to make God known to the peoples' also applies to the Hornsby Parish.  Its members' response has to be bound to temporal, geographical and other material circumstances. Culturally based differences in styles of worship, leadership, music and outreach are measured through a t-test.  Differences in orientation result in the polarization of the groups. Two small groups decided upon issues, gathered resources and presented two worship services each. Chaburah, the house church and basic Christian communities were used as models.  The project used a questionnaire, evaluation forms and informal conversations to evaluate its effectiveness.  Reality was confronted, barriers were overcome, community was fostered, mutual understanding was enhanced and the biblical heritage was taken seriously.
