A further hypothesis is that there is an identifiable developmental process which is applicable to corporate as well as to individual growth and development. Assuming that such an identifiable developmental process exists, it then follows that this process can be used as both a descriptive and prescriptive tool to determine whether or not a specific corporate group in the Christian community, together with its leadership, is developing in a wholesome way. The application which is addressed in this project is to the community of the congregation. The project is itself an integration of previous years of study and learning units for the Doctor of Ministry degree. The practical application of the stated hypothesis is to the development of the congregational life of First Reformed Church of Grandville, Michigan from 1977 to 1986."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["c24f9e0f-f5f0-45a3-b7f1-6a406c6902fb"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791135575837769728,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:53:15.878Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:24:27Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:41:45Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"1eab3ca9-98a3-4a22-97f6-a05abc237057","accessControl_ssim":["f218ce87-e0ec-494f-898e-9526c4d79c29"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["A study which evaluates the growth of the Mississippi District of the Church of the Nazarene with eight selected church growth principles"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:24:26Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T23:02:31Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["9e7ebea0-0c27-4693-a788-9007b7fb1687"],"hasLease_ssim":["7443d575-dbf6-42ec-b210-7ab3ac7fc902"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Nazarene Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Albert L Truesdale"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Jerry Wayne Smith"],"publisher_tesim":["Nazarene Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church of the Nazarene--Mississippi District","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The author maintains that church growth principles are universal in scope, are not functionally independent and that their employment tends to produce measurable growth while their absence tends to impede growth. The project concludes with a specific set of recommendations based on a theological model of the church and clear socio-psychological dynamics needed for church growth and renewal."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Louisville Presbyterian Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["7d2ba5b6-aeec-459a-aaec-e1eed75d32f0"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791134438154829824,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:35:10.898Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:00:10Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:10:22Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e73776a2-a51a-42fa-b499-e4701170ef3e","accessControl_ssim":["1d1fb806-5341-4d7f-8f6c-226b06026b68"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["An integration of theological and psychosocial method for interpreting congregational development"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T23:00:09Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:44:47Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c0e6d6a9-acc8-4a39-82ec-259a6528dc36"],"hasLease_ssim":["eeb38ba0-68ff-49f6-964d-ca80a8a631bd"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["John W Tien"],"publisher_tesim":["Western Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Congregations","Faith development","Fowler, James W","Erikson, Erik H. He integrated the developmental stages of Erik Erikson, James Fowler and the classical order of salvation and developed a grid that can be used descriptively and prescriptively in charting the life development of a congregation. He also added a level entitled faith dynamic which identifies the type of faith experience that becomes the major theme at specific stages of development. The author has formally and informally used the grid both as a pastor and as a consultant. This specific study shows the use of this grid in a large suburban church that had lost much of its vitality and charts its development from 1977 to 1986."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Western Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["910240dd-6bfb-49cb-ab06-1b8de036aac8"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132880072605696,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:10:24.996Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:59:40Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:03:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"18854d5c-47ef-4f94-9c71-50cc57387f1e","accessControl_ssim":["a441525f-aa66-4c25-b3d1-1b5c7d88c0f8"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Making Explosion Evangelism work: the cross-cultural adaptation and local application of EEIII, International, in Lisbon, Portugal"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-11T22:59:39Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-16T22:50:56Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ebe5a938-4440-4dac-ab7b-c32f489a66a8"],"hasLease_ssim":["e952a5b1-bb62-45e3-9a84-2b0e67fafe0c"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Reformed Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["1986"],"location_tesim":["Portugal"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Clayton E Quarterman"],"publisher_tesim":["Reformed Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Missions","Presbyterian Church","Church growth","Evangelistic work"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project studies the adaptation of Evangelism Explosion in Lisbon, Portugal, as a starting tool in cross-cultural church planting. A project of congregational assessment was used to enable an urban congregation with declining membership to be engaged in evangelization.
