The project is designed to identify and use those marketing approaches which will be the most effective in attracting visitors to the First Baptist Church of Oceanside. A secondary aim of this project is to create a resource which will assist other established, traditional churches in similar situations as they seek to effectively 'market' their ministry for the glory of God. The reason why this project was undertaken is to focus and maximize the limited marketing resources, time and effort which the church has in order to increase the number of church visitors. The church will then be able to witness from a position of strength as it specifically reaches out to those who by their presence indicate a spiritual receptivity. Five strategic marketing strategies are identified, tried and evaluated based upon a survey of 498 visitors over a 25 month period. A statistical analysis is made comparing the relative effectiveness of each marketing strategy. Implications for the First Baptist Church of Oceanside and the church at large are presented."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Miscellaneous"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["4f3e9d5f-fc19-4d44-a264-44b56604eb9a"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129301217705984,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:13:31.934Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:32:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:43:03Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"6a76185b-ee39-4adc-ab60-953e14060305","accessControl_ssim":["088cf218-cabe-44dd-86a5-4f45ee0433c0"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The congregation's pilgrimage to maturity: toward an understanding of...church growth from the perspective of personality development"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:32:53Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:15:08Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["fc05d80f-a03d-4b15-9073-37d961e7ab75"],"hasLease_ssim":["208f6270-e610-431c-a067-adcf1ce30453"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Kenneth L Swetland"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["J David Waugh"],"publisher_tesim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Personality development","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The thesis presents a paradigm for understanding the stages of church growth to maturation from the perspective of human personality development. The lay volunteers grew in their leadership skills, self-confidence and ability to communicate their faith in Christ."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["55f1694e-f3f1-43ea-8ca9-da9a2899defe"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791128431415525377,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:59:42.426Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:09:53Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:34:05Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"b858bf7c-45e6-49d3-af78-fef026ffd3e2","accessControl_ssim":["d00cd930-9e98-46b3-874b-05349396ed55"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The leader's ship: the development of a model and curriculum leading to proactive lay leadership in the local church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T02:09:52Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:26:55Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ae63f509-af02-485f-8566-0ab86ba06561"],"hasLease_ssim":["e5963ecb-2204-4ff4-8813-0adb26797424"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Boston University"],"advisor_tesim":["Robert W Thornburg"],"year_tesim":["1992"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Brinton P Minshall"],"publisher_tesim":["Boston University School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Leadership--Religious aspects--Christianity","Lay Church work","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This leadership development project was aimed at equipping the lay people of the church to move the local church from a static state to one of the growing community. This was done to search out ways that would provide a vision for spiritual renewal and spur church growth. Christian fellowship was also used to establish a norm for Christian relationships. The fundamental issue of this aspect of the project dealt with the power structure of the church, how power issues hindered a partnership ministry, and caused people to be divided into separate groups. The primary focal point of this project was to address these issues by looking at images. 'The body of Christ' was utilized to emphasize that the separate groups were a part of the body of Christ. The concluding portion of this project stressed a partnership of ministry. Church members worked as partners because they recognized that Jesus had called them to community where there are different levels of ministry, but all persons are of equal value before God."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Candler
