This project included four primary tasks. First, the project began with a defined demographics study of the population surrounding the community of Hornbeck, Louisiana, and an internal institutional analysis of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. The analysis of the resulting data provided an assessment of the Church revitalization potential for First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. Second, the project director researched effective church revitalization strategies and formulated a report of the best practices foe church revitalization. Third, the project director assembled a selected group of members of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana into a revitalization strategy team and equipped them to develop a strategy to aid in the revitalization of First Baptist Church, Hornbeck, Louisiana. The author used a seven point Likert scale to survey members and friends of EFC. Noteworthy data revealed by experiencing inclusion, hope, with open and affirming encouragement to seek Jesus, the people of EFC reported an increase in their self-image, spiritual maturity and relationship with Christ. The first step involved an in-depth study of FBCH's attendance trends from 2005 to 2015 based on the annual church profile reports and recorded church history. The project director compared discipleship strategies of churches with similar characteristics and conducted a survey of church leaders to determine the current condition of FBCH discipleship. The research showed that FBCH plateaued in attendance from 2008 to 2013. The project director determined that FBCH needed a disciple-making strategy that led to multiplication and focused on transformation. This paper starts with an identification of common factors for church growth, then specifically exposits systematic changes that can be implemented in PCUSA churches to create a healthier culture. The hypotheses of this paper describe three areas of potential change to grow healthier medium-sized PCUSA churches: the size of the local church leadership board, the implementation of policy governance practices, and the introduction of transformational leadership training in the local church. Could a multi-site approach enable Episcopal parishes to start new communities of faith? Multi-site structures, defines as one church in multiple locations, have strong biblical and ecclesiological support. Several examples can be found in Anglican history, and the canons fully support this approach. Five parishes were found to have implemented multi-sites in suburban contexts. Their experience was explored and documented as a qualitative multiple case study. Their multi-site approaches proved successful.
