The review of literature and analysis of interviews with church planters focused on three key areas of planting churches that affect pastors: the church planter as a man, the church planter's message, and the church planter's mission. In the area of the church planter as a man, the findings revealed that the church planter must be biblically qualified and spiritually gifted. In the area of the church planter's message, the findings demonstrated that the church planter must preach the gospel from all of scripture. In the area of the church planter's mission, the study determined that the church planter must join the mission of God by incarnating the gospel in culturally understandable ways. The study concluded thtat it takes a qualified and gifted man, armed with a clear gospel message that he is able to contextualize for a lost world, in order for a church to be planted."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Covenant Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e57e5218-1d34-47f5-b1a5-b84efbc9e61f"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131626965565440,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:50:29.940Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:30:56Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T08:35:04Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"483425c6-7ecd-4b09-ad74-a16f2dfb4c73","accessControl_ssim":["e856540c-09b9-401e-9285-dc98cad40b97"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Renewal and development of a small size church: lessons from a survey of Glad Tidings Denomination"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:30:54Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:14:48Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["1e923f08-35e0-47d8-b9b2-0d4d68ca5309"],"hasLease_ssim":["4105f911-4a67-4352-85da-55716b9eeed7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Wilfred Su"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["ShuMei Huang"],"publisher_tesim":["Logos Evangelical Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Small churches","Church growth"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this dissertation is, by standing on the shoulders of those who have gone before us, to look further and deeper in order to understand why some churches received God's blessings more than other churches do. The project was implemented, the author evaluated the effectiveness, and then considered ways this project could help other Baptist congregations."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132849549606912,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:09:55.887Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:15:06Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T03:20:32Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"a3e57a4b-3481-446c-af07-136816d0184d","accessControl_ssim":["06cd65ae-557f-4e1d-81bc-023d471e2bac"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Finding common ground: a postmodern paradigm of mission"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:15:05Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T02:53:51Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["96d331f2-955c-44c9-b244-fe81a97fdf2b"],"hasLease_ssim":["61daa4eb-bae0-4f35-907f-f0bf309855e7"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Sathi Clark"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"location_tesim":["United States"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Five hypotheses guided this study: people from the mother church leave to plant the new church; church planters have a relationship with the mother church before starting a new church; daughter churches are planted locally in relation to the mother church; daughter churches are financially supported by the mother church for a period of time; and the people from the daughter church fully support the church planter. The hypotheses were supported by the literature and case study. As a result of these case studies, seven principles surfaced. The first principle is finding the 'right' person. Without the 'right' person, the rest of the principles do not matter. Principle number two is assessment, which verifies that he, is indeed the 'right' person for the job. Principle number three is the five percent rule: every new church that is planted will give five percent of its offerings to an escrow account for a minimum of three years. This is where the money comes from to plant new churches. Principle number four is partnering for the purpose of sharing resources. Principle number five is that a church plant becomes a fully functional church on its launch day, which allows the bookkeeping systems of the church to include paying the salary of the church planter from day one. Principle number six is raising support, which takes the pressure off the church planter to raise his full salary. Principle seven is networking, which makes partnering easier and contributes to the nonfinancial support of the planters. It is hoped that these principles will work to make a difference in the way churches are started and that they will be tested in different places by other networks of churches that desire to create movements of church planting churches."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791130058766680064,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:25:34.389Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:11:33Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T06:03:12Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"8137f0ed-f81e-4c25-8890-6b4d9a327adf","accessControl_ssim":["20899404-df8d-4ab4-b1b3-0ce7c8e8b162"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Avoiding narrative collapse: how the story of Gum Spring United Methodist Church guides it to the future"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:11:32Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:56:40Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["d6aa172f-6b99-4aef-a927-1f4cd84eafcd"],"hasLease_ssim":["a86c3f1c-6e48-4e69-8576-bb20c5bb0694"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Wesley Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Lewis A Parks"],"year_tesim":["2010"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min.
