Chapter 1 defines the purpose, goals, context, and rational for this project. It also addresses the definition of terms and the limitations of this project. Chapter 2 examines the biblical argument for the multi-campus model. Specifically this chapter argues that the multi-campus model is consistent with what the bible teaches concerning the purpose, mission, and organization of the church. Chapter 3 addresses the sociological factors that influence the church and how the multi-campus model of church growth addresses these. Chapter 4 examines six churches in North America that are implementing the multi-campus model. In this chapter we see that the methodology of these churches will differ, but they all are using a multi-campus approach. Chapter 5 discusses how First Baptist Church of Windermere is implementing the multi-campus model. My thesis was that congregational input and participation in discovery and development of a vision would enhance ownership and increase intentional ministry effectiveness in a church with no clear sense of purpose, vision and direction. The method of study involved extensive research regarding church growth, development of an eight-session teaching plan, and presentation of the plan within the local church. The result of the study was a vision statement embraced and owned by the people, as well as future direction and a sense of purpose in the church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e59d8a7f-b140-41e1-9d1f-4e98aaa1d973"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791132000359284736,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:56:26.036Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:09:35Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T01:48:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"657603e6-d4eb-48a1-9ef3-4806a78383e0","accessControl_ssim":["0d269cd0-e5ed-4747-801f-4b741964b7ae"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Equipping selected members of Beth-el Baptist Church of Doraville, Georgia, for church greeting ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T10:09:30Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:05:57Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["50bbfe7e-c5a4-4362-b37f-4683931503bd"],"hasLease_ssim":["1f810c45-4b3b-4dae-8031-5846ddd252c4"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jerry N Barlow"],"year_tesim":["2005"],"location_tesim":["United States"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David Hontas"],"publisher_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Church growth","Evangelistic work","Beth-el Baptist Church (Doraville, Ga)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of this project was to equip selected members in the congregation of Beth-el Baptist Church of Doraville, Georgia, for church greeting ministry. First, the project director studied contemporary books by known church growth experts such as Thom Rainer, George Barna, Ken Hemphill, and Elmer Towns and books written by a leadership expert, John Maxwell. Second, the project director interviewed church leaders who have helped churches transition from a plateaued church to a growing, vibrant community of believers. Third, the project director studied the demographics of the Harbins community and the statistical data of the Ebenezer Baptist Church to compare the growth of the two entities to discover the effectiveness of the Ebenezer Baptist Church. After the research was completed, the project director developed a workshop for key leaders of the Ebenezer Baptist Church, Dacula, Georgia.
