The focus of this project is to understand the theological rationale for unity among diversity within the church and to give principles of how a church can transition into a church for all people. Traits of the generations are discovered through literature review and field research, using the grounded theory method. Second, mission is described with eight viral factors that caused the spontaneous expansion of the early church. Third, the researcher created strategies to maximize the traits of the generations by reviewing which traits are leverageable or prohibitive related to the viral factors. Generational entelechies are discovered and generational cultures are defined to build a whole-church multi-generational missional culture. This case study of Solid Rock United Methodist Church provides one such model. From the research five transferable insights emerged. The observers rated their pastors fairly highly, except for a significantly lower rating on their 'challenging the process.' These congregations were forty percent smaller that the average congregation in the United States. This paper seeks to understand what the factors were that resulted in such growth through evangelism and to discern what transferable principles may be applied in the contemporary church to promote effectiveness in evangelism.
