Ten strategies were found from these verses, which as clear vision, functional administration, excellent spiritual leadership, solid equipment of Christian education, God's presence worship, upgraded spiritual life, loving and caring system, dynamic small group, effective spiritual gifts and united teamwork. By means of these strategies, Evangelical Chinese Bible Church grew from two families in 1972 to up to 2000 congregation in 2007. From a 'missional church' perspective, this research provides practical, biblical, and theological rationales to seek outsiders'visions of church. It presents findings from 'on-the-street' interviews with un-churched persons. Their images of church were rich, emphasized a communal faith dimension, and confirmed biblical and theological themes. This project concludes that un-churched persons' visions of church can help construct an ecclesiology for a new multiethnic United Methodist church and bring hope to the whole church."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b5eba5c2-141b-4673-9689-2f9720736859"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791129594511753216,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:18:11.641Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:48:44Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:18:19Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"df5385e7-7abf-4ba1-8819-1e6ff0d93c91","accessControl_ssim":["323648cc-d6bc-4067-ba9f-e64f0606fef5"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["The impact of Wesleyan ecclesiology on postmodern North Carolina United Methodist congregations"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:48:43Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:31:39Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3f8f0d0f-43ea-45be-b33a-57f9679c9578"],"hasLease_ssim":["7fedb76c-24d2-4e5b-846c-35447ae8a7a5"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["David L Bartlett"],"year_tesim":["2008"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Harvey Gray Southern"],"publisher_tesim":["Columbia Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Wesley, John, 1703-1791","Theology","Church growth","Church membership","United Methodist Church"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["'Why join the church?' First the author established the parallels between the ecclesiology of Wesley and the theology of Natural Church Development.
