This multi-case design studied five United Methodist churches of the Central Texas Conference that had an average annual growth rate of 7 percent for 1990-1999. The findings were similar to what the Apostles experienced in Acts 6. The pastors welcomed the laity in roles of leadership, as they opened up new roles of leadership.
