From that process of teaching and interacting with the workshop's participants, enabling strategies for applying Dr Callahan's work were developed. Three disciplines, Christian education, church growth, and organizational development are used to inform reflection on the project.  The conclusion of the reflection is that if the Sunday School is to be a vital Christian organization, it must more closely approximate the Anglican Volunteer Religious Societies from which it began. Clergy respondents prefer a leadership style of people orientation.  In transitional communities, church growth is correlated with population changes and church programming. The thesis was that churches that corporately emphasized the pastoral roles of enabler and evangelist grow more rapidly than those which place less emphasis on these roles.  A questionnaire was administered to two groups of churches -- a control group of churches that grows approximately ten percent per annum and a randomly selected group of churches that grow slowly or decline in size. A Church Growth Conference provided the context for the educational process.  The church in Acts served as a model for church growth.  Biblical and modern church growth principles were used as the basis for the instruction.
