Lack of foreign missionaries during much of this time left Estonian Methodism with a strong, indigenous leadership, but it has also inherited an indefinite ecclesiology and an incomplete understanding of the sacraments, which have issued in confusion of identity. More than 70,000 persons visited the church in 1995, and its varied use by community groups and agencies, its status on the National Register of Historic Places since 1980, and its preparation to become a National Historic Landmark are indications that the 15 September 1963 bombing of the church has changed its ministry. This project traces the history of American mainline Protestantism, especially the Presbyterian Church (USA), and identifies the most important causes and consequences of disestablishment. The project isolates theological themes and establishes future trajectories to move mainline churches into the comingmillennium. A researcher-designed survey was mailed to a simple random sample of revival participants, asking about nine aspects of their spiritual lives within the first 12 months of the revival and 25 years later.  Survey results showed that even 25 years later the Asbury Revival of 1970 continued to impact the lives of the Asbury College graduates who participated in the revival. Chapter 3 discusses the history of marriage and divorce in the church, the concept of marriage and divorce in the Old Testament, the Gospels, the letters of Paul, the Reformation church, and the Orthodox Church.  The fourth chapter focuses on some current issues of marriage and divorce in the Presbyterian Church in Cameroon.
