The study was conducted over a two-year period by measuring the degree of dissatisfaction prevalent, then providing events and activities designed to give personnel feelings of achievement and self-worth. After two years, further testing disclosed a measurable increase in the perception of effectiveness of the committees. The author researched the management structures of the Martin Luther King Jr Center's comprehensive social service delivery system in Dallas. The use of the participant-observer research method revealed that administration by objectives should be the basic orientation of organizational management, particularly that of the parish. The issue was the development of a resource which could aid staff members to work together in a spirit of cooperation and teamwork.  United Methodism's 'quadrilateral court of appeal' was utilized as the hermeneutic, for those guidelines allow for variety in developing a teamwork style in ministry. Consideration was given to organizational theory and leadership styles.  The model involved a questionnaire for staff members and a workshop. Thirty-five interviews were conducted from participants in the 1989 consolidation in Chicago's Englewood and the San Francisco consolidation after its 1989 earthquake. The study explores the roles of ritual and pastoral care in highly conflicted situations using the praxis-theory-praxis method of practical theology and through the lens of trauma and reconciliation. The first half deals with the theoretical aspects.  Biblical foundations for administration and leadership management are explored.  Then, the author illustrates how church management is related to church growth.  The second half deals with proxis.  Using scriptures as the guide and TLBC as a test case, the author traces the development of TLBC in its 17-year history.  He analyses the present organizational structure of the church and proposes refined departmental guidelines, human resource policies, and meeting agendas and processes. The seminars will examine Sunday morning sermons in light of Garden Oaks Baptist Church's committee structure with a view toward developing a structure based on a team-ministry approach. Through interaction and dialogue, seminar participants will evaluate Garden Oaks Baptist Church's committee structure and pursue development of a team-ministry structure based on one's spiritual gifts.  The third phase will be designed to enlist a study team of twelve people from participants of the first and second phases.
