The project director guided the strategy development process by selecting and utilizing a team of leaders from the discipleship training program who collaborated in developing the plan. The project's scope was to lead parishioners in a survey of the AME Church's doctrines, discipline, and membership responsibility. Participants were engaged through a series of eight seminars, four sermons, and a retreat. They averaged fifty-minutes in eight seminars, twenty-five minutes listening to four sermons, and forty-five minute sessions in the one half-day retreat. Evaluation instruments were administered for assessing the project director's effectiveness, participants' retention, and value of the material. The goal was for members to discover the worth of the AME Church in view of the benefit they received from its beliefs, identity, and function."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Beeson Divinity School"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["15a18942-6151-49a8-8979-cd138c6b47cc"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791127385804898304,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T06:43:05.254Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:39:21Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:18:21Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c809b35c-a739-42f4-95e2-6fa463e4c6f0","accessControl_ssim":["22d248d2-baaa-4bad-b5e6-a6eb6c6c27cd"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Preaching in a hopeful church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T11:39:20Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T03:52:35Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["ceb9c111-fcfe-4666-9f3f-e19b4c574fe8"],"hasLease_ssim":["23dbddf2-4d02-406a-8d6e-211a2b5fb527"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Iliff School of Theology"],"advisor_tesim":["Richard F Ward"],"year_tesim":["2007"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Paul Leon Ramsey"],"publisher_tesim":["Iliff School of Theology"],"subject_tesim":["Mayflower Congregational Church, United Church of Christ (Englewood, Colo)","Preaching","Church renewal--Congregational churches","Church membership"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project details the process of growing a preaching ministry in a church that seemed to be dying.
