The preacher needs to analyze the ministerial context and invite the congregation to share their concerns, interests and questions about preaching. It suggests that the preacher should withdraw his/her controlling power over the congregation so that the laity can work together with the preacher by sharing the ministry, including preaching. This project focused on a congregation in transition. The author explored the use of resources from the 'missional church' conversation. She used the 'Three Zone Model of Missional Leadership' and 'The Missional Change Model' by Roxburgh and Romanuk in a process of participatory action research. Attention was paid to the role that renewal of baptismal identity and worship play in helping a congregation transition toward missional identity. This project is a case study of one congregation where such transformation is already underway. The process for this study included three parts: 1) a survey to determine the congregation's knowledge and attitudes toward personal testimonies, 2) a twelve-week period where personal testimonies were included in the Sunday morning worship services, and 3) a survey following the twelve-week period to determine how knowledge and attitudes may have changed.  Attendance records were also studied.  Attendance records may indicate growth. The project surveyed short-term mission trip participants to discover the spiritually forming elements of the trip. This data was used to form a strategy that was then presented to a panel of eight experts for their evaluation. As a result, the evaluation by the panel of experts validated the strategy according to issues that revitalize a local church. The implications of Jesus' ongoing incarnation are then explored.
