Using Whitehead's theological method, a biblical-grounded basis, and contemporary-type small groups, the author tailed a variety of groups which provided new life and energy into the church.  Each set of groups was measured using objective data and subjective evaluations.  The membership, attendance and finances of the congregation dramatically improved during the project. The final document confirms the value of working with non-ordained laity who proved to be articulate and critically accurate in understanding theological and philosophical principles of congregational life. Major problems facing Crystal EFC upon the arrival of a new pastor in 1990 included lack of leadership, unclear spiritual identity, loss of vision, inward focus, lack of cohesive systems, and fragmented staff.  Major symptoms included declining attendance, financial deficit, internal discord, and low morale.  Each area was impacted by initiating alternative concepts and practices drawn from Scripture and espoused by experts.  Five-year results show substantial progress in each problem area. The project was successful in meeting its goals and objectives but resulted in chaos breaking out in the church with the pastor becoming its chief victim. The Korean church needs an impetus in its own reformation.  Preaching can become an impetus of reformation. Using a study course, participants considered open versus closed churches.  In a leadership conference, board members were introduced to the implications of shared ministry.  In a sermon series, congregants heard about five church models: covenant communion, sacrament, herald, servant, and community of disciples. One of the better opportunities for achieving spiritual growth is participation is the Cursillo (Via de Cristo) movement. The method of study included reading and analysis of congregational statistical data, personal interviews with Cursillo participants from the congregation both before and after attending a retreat, surveys of Cursillo participants and comparisons with similar congregations.  Results of the study indicated that those who attend Cursillo (or similar programs) are uplifted and renewed and are better able to avoid burnout in the congregation.
