Drawing upon biblical theology, the practices of the early church, the experience and practice of 18 churches and prayer ministries notable for their example and influence, the study examines principles for developing sustained, faith-filled prayer ministry. There has been decline in prayer among American Christians due to distractions, theological misconceptions, and diminished expectancy, and these trends undermine the transformative power of the American Church. Through a review of Scripture, early Church Fathers, and contemporary best practices, the project emphasizes the indispensable role of prayer in individual and corporate life. The work proposes a biblically grounded and practically applicable model of prayer ministry tailored for evangelical and charismatic churches, incorporating structured teaching, consistent practice, and especially leadership example. Data from the author’s home church Family Christian Center of Munster, IN, including prayer meeting participation and documented answered prayers, demonstrates the effectiveness of such a model. Ultimately, this project advocates for the pastoral leadership to champion a culture of expectant prayer, positioning the Church as a prophetic community that partners with God in shaping history through intercession."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1832296904363343872,"timestamp":"2025-05-16T16:54:57.722Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-05-16T01:51:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-16T01:59:23Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"4b0a5b28-f87f-4617-a36c-e5de7a0d36a2","accessControl_ssim":["8fcc060e-c70b-4126-8a4a-98236865777e"],"hasRelatedMediaFragment_ssim":["65ff4ef5-5c5c-4123-a200-d7153ae45d3d"],"hasRelatedImage_ssim":["65ff4ef5-5c5c-4123-a200-d7153ae45d3d"],"depositor_ssim":["kjung@pts.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["kjung@pts.edu"],"title_tesim":["New Life Through Shared ministry"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-05-16T01:51:00Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-16T01:57:54Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["3951a7c5-8a4d-473a-bba9-bf40dcfb7353"],"hasLease_ssim":["05214f96-6611-4529-b278-eff46088a293"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. It addresses two key research questions: (1) the internal and external factors influencing church multiplication, and (2) the role of theological\r\nframeworks in shaping these practices. \r\n\r\nBridge Church, grounded in the Gospel of the Kingdom theology, emphasizes relational depth, spiritual formation, and organic leadership transitions. While this approach fosters sustainable, mission-aligned growth, it faces challenges such as delayed multiplication and leadership fatigue, often influenced by life-stage constraints and strong relational bonds. In contrast, Green Hill Church adopts principles from the Church Growth Movement (CGM), prioritizing structured training, hierarchical efficiency, and rapid multiplication. Though effective in achieving numerical growth, this pragmatic approach can result in emotional strain, fragmented relationships, and premature leadership assignments.\r\n\r\nThe findings indicate that sustainable church multiplication requires a balance of theological integrity, relational trust, structured leadership pathways, and life-cycle sensitivity. Integrating the relational and theological depth of Kingdom theology with the strategic clarity of CGM offers a promising framework for growth. This study proposes a hybrid model that combines theological formation, mentorship-based leadership development, and adaptive strategies to foster mission-driven, culturally responsive, and inclusive multiplication practices within Korean and Korean immigrant church contexts."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1831295062504374272,"timestamp":"2025-05-05T15:31:06.872Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2025-05-01T19:37:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-01T20:03:16Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"2ca2d8b6-3909-4abd-baee-bdfebb00df31","accessControl_ssim":["d844b4f0-401a-444c-9395-e25ab2cee888"],"depositor_ssim":["aholbrook@impactclt.org"],"depositor_tesim":["aholbrook@impactclt.org"],"title_tesim":["Steps for Generating Collaborative Action to House the Vulnerable in Charlotte, NC."],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2025-05-01T19:37:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2025-05-01T20:03:16Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["94a914ea-5344-4971-a485-6712f164b13e"],"hasLease_ssim":["d67e74cd-07b6-422e-b477-45026d6b6dd9"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2025"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. This project researches and addresses the problem that less than five percent of churches in the United States have a lay disciple making culture. The hypothesis is that a healthy church will have a minimum of thirty percent of its laity actively involved in life-on-life relational disciple making that creates a tipping point in the culture of the church. Key to this study is the idea that Jesus Christ and his method should take priority. For this reason, the title is Christ´s mission through the local church versus the church´s mission about Christ. The research investigates the biblical and theological background to missional disciple making. Literature was investigated regarding missional ecclesiology, sociological findings in connection with disciple making environments, and disciple making training methods. Three case studies of missional disciple making churches were researched. The research investigated questions of training, obstacles, structure, systems, culture, pastoral priorities and vision for lay missional disciple making in the local church. \r\n\r\nThe findings suggest that the local church can achieve the vital work of winning, building, equipping, multiplying and empowering laity to do the Great Commission. To achieve this ministry there must be clear definitions, processes, tracking, metrics, and simple reproducible methods. Significant shifts must take place in many churches to engage, train, and empower laity. When a disciple making culture is achieved there is an unlocking of ministry potential through the local church. When this happens the ministry leaders work can shift allowing for a change from ministry that is mainly seeing addition to multiplication on to movements of ministry. \r\n"],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["dminadmin@tiu.edu"],"_version_":1830201268339998720,"timestamp":"2025-04-23T13:45:43.470Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2024-09-20T18:55:08Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-09-20T18:55:10Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"c2d0d41f-fab7-4c8a-90a8-5405660d6bf9","accessControl_ssim":["10f0638a-d327-4b60-9340-5e7da1e596d9"],"depositor_ssim":["bradley.hess@ctsfw.edu"],"depositor_tesim":["bradley.hess@ctsfw.edu"],"title_tesim":["Congregational renewal and revitalization : a case study of Hope Lutheran Church, Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2024-09-20T18:55:06Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-09-20T18:55:06Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["0ffb1409-e51f-48c9-8eea-26a37b99dc51"],"hasLease_ssim":["aa3f1216-8448-471d-9753-b265262fd371"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Concordia Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Grobien, Gifford A."],"committee_member_tesim":["Ziegler, Roland F.","Gieschen, Charles A."],"year_tesim":["2024"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. However, people are still hungry for God’s Word. This paper is a case study of the renewal and revitalization of Hope Lutheran Church, drawing on my own thirty years of experience in the ministry. All of my congregations experienced growth during my time serving as pastor, and this dissertation is a description of my strategies for renewal. In this, the most important aspect is the pastor’s own personal walk. In order to meet the demands of ministry, a pastor must have prayer time and a devotional life outside of pastoral study time.\r\n\r\nFrom there, there are four main areas to address for a church looking to revitalize. The first is to heal. A pastor looking to renew his congregation needs to ask his congregants what the church is doing right and where the church has room to grow. He needs to listen to the hurt people carry in their own spiritual lives, and from there he must provide sound guidance from God’s Word while directing people to the sacraments.\r\n\r\nSecondly, the pastor must establish a confessional program of Biblical education for youth and old alike. Next, the pastor must ask, “Who used to be coming? And who needs to be coming?” Reach out to the inactive members and unchurched members of the community. Finally, the growing church must serve together. Most communities have people lacking basic necessities such as food and housing. How can the congregation help?\r\n\r\nThis project will describe how this method of healing was put into place at Hope Lutheran Church, and provide guidance and encouragement for pastors looking to do the same in their own congregations."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["admin_set/default-default-approving","admin_set/default-default-depositing","admin_set/default-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Default Admin Set"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["bradley.hess@ctsfw.edu"],"_version_":1810742390130999296,"timestamp":"2024-09-20T18:55:11.095Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2024-05-17T16:40:05Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-17T16:40:07Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"5b56df15-22bc-49ad-9cf7-18815f800601","accessControl_ssim":["cc201c94-822c-435e-8ce8-5601e8538a35"],"depositor_ssim":["ateter@eastminsterchurch.net"],"depositor_tesim":["ateter@eastminsterchurch.net"],"title_tesim":["The Cross-Cultural Community of Faith"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2024-05-17T16:40:04Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-17T16:40:05Z","isPartOf_ssim":["admin_set/default"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["798a2029-8964-4739-b853-ced2adb9c1a8"],"hasLease_ssim":["fc77bc83-8e03-4e9b-a10f-7d455379743e"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Pittsburgh Theological Seminary"],"year_tesim":["2024"],"resource_type_tesim":["Dissertation","D.Min.
