Six individuals and the researcher used the methodology of action research to collect and analyze the data. The data were gathered through written journal logs and group interviews. This study showed that hospitality is an inclusive practice. Secondly, there are four reasons why we should practice hospitality: hospitality creates a space for evangelism, is worship, is a spiritual dynamic, and is a practice that needs to be recovered. After the Council, a new phenomenon emerged of paid ministerial positions. The US bishops developed a theological framework for this phenomenon and named it lay ecclesial ministry. This project examines the developing theological understanding of lay ecclesial ministry, with focus on the human resource issues that surfaced with the emergence of the role of pastoral associate. Yet, in the Western, Middle-Class Church (marked by syncretism) the world's ways (which exclude 'inconvenient others') conflict with Jesus' ways (of embracing them). Consequentially, many Christians do not demonstrate Beatitudinal Character, the attributes of Matthew 5:3-10. Using Action Research, 11 drop-in centre volunteers, over 3 sites, were interviewed and surveyed. Understanding these views can help Chinese pastors to preach God's word effectively and to educate their congregations about the significance of expository preaching in pulpit ministry.  This study employed a qualitative design, using semi-structured interviews. The review of literature and analysis of the eight interviews focused on three key areas of preaching that revealed the views of the lay leaders on what constituted biblical preaching. These areas of focus were: the views of lay leaders on preaching in light of their various church experiences in different countries, the views of lay leaders on preaching in relation to other contexts of teaching the Bible in the church, and the views of lay leaders on expository preaching. This study revealed that male and female of Chinese lay leaders share similar views of preaching. God models collaboration through the Holy Trinity. Many in healthcare and education have discovered the benefits of collaboration. The researcher explored the principles behind effective collaborative ministry on multi-point charges in the Peninsula-Delaware Conference of the United Methodist Church. Case studies were conducted on three Untied Methodist Charges showing evidence of effective collaborative ministry and mission. The researcher gathered information through interviews with pastors and laity, multiple site-visits, church-produced documents, and open-ended questionnaires. I used 5 point Likert scale questionnaires to glean information from 29 participants: 10 pastors and 19 ministers, to determine what ministers and pastors believed about training for prophets. Pastors and ministers strongly agreed that education and training for people with the gift of prophecy are important. Pastors agreed that they would likely recommend training and ministers agreed that they would attend a program for training. Forty interviews were conducted, resulting in five implications: expectations of leadership by laity, congregational identity, congregational connections, life factors, and expectations of laity by leadership.
