Based on the concepts that ministry is for reconciliation, and listening is a vital ministry, the project sought to train lay church members in the art of creative listening.  These trained listeners then called on other church members--especially the disaffected--in an attempt to achieve reconciliation. The major research component consisted of a survey of  management attitudes and values in the area served by  King-Bay Chaplaincy.  The findings of the survey and the survey process itself influenced the strategy and development of the chaplaincy. The entire ministry of the chaplaincy is experimental in nature, as it is not based on a traditional model of ministry.
