The equipping model was chosen to provide a lasting resource for training disciples. To accomplish this purpose, research was done in the field of disciple making. This research led to four primary disciple making skills; abiding faith, relational accountability, missional living, and intentional multiplication. From these skills, an eight-session curriculum was developed and implemented to train selected adults during a Friday night and Saturday\r\nmorning workshop.\r\n\r\nEvaluation for the project was accomplished through a pretest and posttest. Each participant took a test before the workshop began to assess their level of  understanding of disciple making. Once the curriculum was completed, the participants took the same test to determine what was learned. At the end of the workshop, each participant provided an evaluation of the workshop to determine the value of the training. These values and views have affected the way pastors, church leaders, and laypeople attempt to effectively attract millennials to the Christian faith. Lancaster, Pennsylvania, is such a community that has been affected by the constant evolving of values and views on how to attract millennials to the Christian faith. This research project attempts to bring an understanding of the religious landscape in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, regarding millennials. The project seeks to examine how Christian practices are used by millennial (age 18-35) laypeople to attract their peers to the Christian faith in the twenty-first century Lancaster, Pennsylvania. Upon attempting to answer this question, it is hoped that recognized effective strategies are found in “concrete practices that ordinary people identify within their everyday lives as contributing to their human thriving…” Humans thrive when they have an intrinsic relationship that produces a shared love of neighbor. Project"],"creator_tesim":["Bettivia, Nicole"],"subject_tesim":["Church renewal","Intergenerational relations","Church work with adults"],"abstract_tesim":["This project seeks to shed light on persons who are of the Millennial generation (born between 1981 and 1996) who are actively engaged in a traditional Christian Congregation. Focusing on congregations of the United Church of Christ in Wisconsin, I used surveys and interviews to study pairs of siblings where one sibling is active in congregation and the other is not. By analyzing the differences between siblings in life situations, personal experiences, and spiritual engagement, the wider church can achieve a better understanding of the Millennial generation and why some of them have chosen to participate in the church while others have not. Differences between siblings found to be significant include the religious level of spouses, self-identity as a person of faith, and LGBTQ+ identity. Surprisingly, my data suggests that Millennial siblings who identify LGBTQ+ are more likely to be actively involved in a church than their straight-identifying sibling. Hearing the voices of these Millennials directly provides perspective and understanding that the church is often missing in the conversations about this generation. This project is intended to help today’s churches unravel and decode the complex reality in which these young adults live. If successful, this project will have done this in three different ways. First, the study will offer a theological way of bridging the gap between the world of Millennials and the knowledge of such in the church. The study will do that through the use of a tool of a four-week Biblical study of the book of Luke. Second, the study will offer a practical way of decoding the world of Millenials by offering four pointed essays examining the world in which Millennials live. This project developed the “Spheres of Influence” hermeneutic as a tool for historical criticism to study the multiple factors which influence family organization. The project director led selected staff members, laymen, and laywomen of Airline Baptist Church to develop an evangelism strategy to utilize in the sports ministry. The strategy planning team met for five sessions to develop \r\na sports evangelism strategy that took into account best practices from other sports ministries and guidance from experts in the field of sports evangelism. The project director informed the team of data from a five-mile demographics survey, sports evangelism literature, and alternative sports ministries. In addition, the strategy team met \r\nwith two experts in sports evangelism via Zoom meetings. The project director led the team to develop a four-part strategy for using sports for intentional evangelism. Discipleship is an element that this church has been missing. The church has used the Sunday morning pulpit and attendance in Sunday school as the discipleship strategy. The issue is the church has not had a strategy to intentionally help people grow closer and be changed by Jesus. The purpose of this strategy was to create a strategy which would promote intentional discipleship for the adults of Liberty Baptist Church. I will utilize demographic studies, research, and a strategy team to develop a strategy for Liberty Baptist. The first step involved research of FBCS’s Annual Church Profile to determine attendance trends from 2013 to 2022. The project director then surveyed selected church leaders to determine the current state of discipleship within FBCS.\r\n\r\nThe project director researched literature and existing disciple-making models and methods to discover the best practices for FBCS. The project director then selected a student and adult disciple-making strategy team to whom results of research were presented. The project director collected data and developed adult lifestyle profiles for the church and its ministry area. The project director used the profiles to lead the disciple-making strategy team to assess the effectiveness of the church’s current disciple-making strategy. The project researched adult disciplemaking and adult disciple-making strategies, examined existing models of adult disciplemaking, and surveyed leaders from a select group of churches to develop a list of best practices for Calvary. The project director then formed a disciple-making strategy team by selecting and training thirteen members from the church. The project director led the team through six training sessions to develop an adult disciple-making strategy for Calvary. The project director and the team presented the strategy to the church elders for approval. The elders approved the strategy and recommended it to the church for adoption.
