The project accomplished this task through a six-week course on worship for kindergarten/first grade children and their parents, children's bulletins, two sermons, a pew pamphlet, and a baptism renewal/baptism service.  The report establishes the need along with the theological rationale for including children in worship. By supporting grieving adults, churches can help children deal with grief in a manner which can alleviate further distress.  The project evaluates the theological meaning of death and surveys psychological studies on the impact of death.  It reviews the means of responding to grieving children.  Special attention is focused on how churches can help through pastoral care by clergy and lay helpers, the funeral service, and Christian education.
