The goals were: educate the congregation about faith development, and develop and adopt a ministry affirming childhood preconversions.  The pretest/posttest method measured the educational effectiveness of a preaching and teaching series.  The committee process developed and proposed for adoption a preconversion ministry.  Interviews with committee members provided subjective analysis of the entire project.  The goals were accomplished. The process, designed for both the remarrying couple and their custodial and non-custodial children, requires a pastor as well as a lay counselor who works primarily with children.  It culminates in a uniquely personal remarriage ceremony planned and participated in by the entire family and the pastor. Both community resource persons and church members join in a ministry to the latchkey child.  The pilot program is a model for small congregations interested in outreach ministry.
