The author examines the developmental stages of preliterate children, the divine design for raising children in the fear and knowledge of the Lord; he engages with their parents regarding their understanding of their children's faith development, and proposes use of liturgy and appropriate 'quiet books' assisting children's worship of the Lord. Four disciplines informed the model: neurobiology, physiology, psychosocial, and spiritual faith formation.  The model (FPC) was evaluated by an expert panel comprised of two groups: licensed clinicians with training in FP and those with no FP training.  The panel agreed that FPC was developmentally sound. This project addresses this reality by engaging the congregations' children in a practice of encounter.  The children of Hill United Methodist Church dislocated among the children of Ubuntu (PCUSA) in order to resist the domination system's forces of isolation, division and diversion. The research methods used were qualitative, including interviews, observations, surveys, inventories, questionnaires, and journals.  The goal of the model was to examine how puberty, family, poverty, crime, and/or drugs may be related to low self-esteem. The researcher involved the children in activities such as praying, singing, liturgical dancing, journaling and crafts, using the pro-active research method.  This method seeks transformation while conducting qualitative research.  The researcher found that children who participated in grief activities involving prayer and worship were more responsive than those who participated in recreational activities alone. This necessitates the intervention of pastoral care. This project focuses on one inner-city school, and the need some of its students and members of staff have for pastoral care. The Christian Church, and the role that pastoral care plays in its ministry are explored, and ten cases discovered to be in need of pastoral care intervention are highlighted. Using purposeful sampling in a qualitative research design, the researcher-pastoral counselor describes the treatment of two critical cases in his clinical practice involving two school age boys diagnosed with ADHD. The findings show that the pastoral counselor recognized, understood, and treated the ADHD symptomatic behaviors within the interactional, psychological, and theological experience of the families' systems.
