By law, schools offer a limited scope of sexuality in curriculum confined to relatively universal values and medical information. As a community of faith, the church has an essential voice and obligation to provide sexuality education beyond what the secular world provides tweens, youth in grades 4-7, and their parents during this crucial developmental stage. The project director did intentional data gathering and assessment in the Corpus Christi region. Data from local and state agencies was valuable in assessing the needs of single-mother families in crisis. The project director did careful research in data gathering, survey methods, and the use of questionnaires.
