An assessment of the needs of families in the Cedar Grove community of Shreveport was done, and based on the results, participants were trained to address those needs. The training occurred during seven ninety-minute sessions. The program involved the participants in teaching/training sessions, group discussions, and a neighborhood tour. At the completion of the project, the project director acquired an increased knowledge of inner-city families' needs. This will shape the identity, mission, and life of the Christian congregations who do so. Through the use of an ethnographical approach, the project unearths the challenges of four families who are dealing the ASDs and posits that there are educational and faith based steps that Christian congregations can use to assist families similarly situated. Stennis Naval Air Station for Christ. This project was comprised of two major components--seminars and outreach evenings. Seminars concentrated on military family needs, Naval Air Station regulations regarding visitors, and how to share one's faith. The writer measured positive cognitive and attitudinal changes in most all the participants. Research into why people do or do not forgive was made through personal interviews, questionnaires and literature search. The family unit as a system was reviewed and three therapeutic counseling methods designed to bring forth forgiveness were examined. Data revealed realistic actions that can be taken to improve pastoral counseling and provide for healing among family members. This project focuses upon the value of funeral sermons that integrate personal stories with biblical proclamation. Why this is important and how this can be done are both explored, along with practical suggestions for gathering stories through carefully facilitated family interaction and active listening. Surveys, interviews, observation and experience are utilized along with research regarding appropriate homiletic usage of these stories. A strategic planning team, consisting of lay personnel, was enlisted and instructed in the basic principles of strategic planning.  Utilizing these principles, theproject director led the team in developing a strategy for continuing family ministry at Fifteenth Avenue Baptist Church.  This strategy was designed to meet the identified family life needs of the congregation. In response to this perceived need, three lay ministry teams were commissioned, and ongoing programs of support, education and nurture were developed. The programs, the process by which they were developed, the setting that inspired them, and the theological foundations they were built on, including theologies of community, ministry of the laity, Christian baptism, marriage and funeral, are included.
