An evaluation to identify the dysfunctional level in the families from these churches was performed. The surveyed pastors accept the existence of dysfunctional families within the Christian church, recognizing that this affects its healthy development. It emphasizes socio-cultural effects of no-fault divorces, family law, and judicial processes on families in Boston and proposes the implementation of family-structured church system and ministry as necessary to counter culture. The overall framework of this thesis reposes on Eldin Villafañe's 'hermeneutical circle of Chrisitan ethics.' This thesis challenges the church to undertake redemptive ministries that provide for the building, nurturing, and equipping of Christian families."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Gordon-Conwell Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["31b95ee0-a31c-43dc-8ec9-d97b30239a2d"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131924781072384,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:55:13.959Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:36:01Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:01:06Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"41106c02-56d3-4f99-bcb9-99e2bdaaa66a","accessControl_ssim":["75dc49d1-d30b-40bb-a6a5-fb5ac7de54ec"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Stages of faith: applying current faith development research to a local church context"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T14:36:00Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:01:05Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["197fa8e3-3922-4c8e-ac6c-61f723a9810f"],"hasLease_ssim":["c41cfa81-c322-4776-b3a8-cfa9d93fd9c2"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN)"],"advisor_tesim":["Brad F Mellon"],"year_tesim":["2012"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["David W Zirilli"],"publisher_tesim":["Bethel Seminary (St. Paul, MN)"],"subject_tesim":["Church work with families","Children--Religious life","Church work with children","Parent and child--Religious aspects--Christianity","Faith development","Harmony Baptist Church (Middletown, NY)"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This project presented a grounded theory based upon the researcher's interviews and current faith development research. The problem that this project addressed is that there is currently no general understanding of how current faith develpment research can be used to promote the spiritual development of children who are raised in Harmony. The six key areas of spiritual growth identified in these interviews are: relationship with parents, relationships with peers, relationship with significant adults, search for identity, transformative life events, and God's activity.
