Research into the process of Indochinese migration into Australia also is included.  A survey was conducted among churches in Sydney to discover the distinctive elements of Chinese evangelism.  A training program was developed based on the findings. This program was tested and retested. A strong family ministry in the Chinese churches eventually will draw more Chinese families to the Christian faith.  In support of this ministry the project addresses differences between Chinese and American cultures and the felt needs of various age groups among the immigrants.  Data is drawn from surveys and personal observations. Hierarchical church structures have to be reduced in the Korean migrant church.  Chapter one discusses immigration and Korean migrants in Australia. Chapter two compares the Uniting Church in Australia and the Korean Church in Korea.  Chapter three presents a servant church model.  Chapter four describes the structure and future plans of the Korean migrant church. The project focused on immigrants who had become related to The International Church of the Metroplex (TICOM).  Separate practicum discussion groups of immigrants and Americans and a random survey indicated that even though they had had negative experiences, especially of rejection from white churches, the immigrants had kept their Christian faith intact.  The practicum also revealed that it was a lack of contact and interaction between the Americans and the Third World immigrants which was responsible for  their fear and mistrust of one another. The practicum had two objectives: to discern, through a detailed survey, the contextual factors governing the Christian witness of Korean-Americans; and to develop a method of evangelism which could communicate the gospel to those beyond the church.
