The supposition of the project was that a crisis exists in North American society regarding the capacity of young adult males to develop toward authentic manhood. The project's thesis was that training young adult males in spiritual disciplines would help them progress toward spiritual maturity and authentic manhood. Through this project the director taught participants how to practice six spiritual disciplines. Using a qualitative case study method, observations from the wight men were presented in a conversational sequence, and then analyzed for significant themes that were unique to the discipleship experience. The means to spiritual growth were identified, as were the hindrances to spiritual growth. It was hypothesized that helping them see the difference between their beliefs and their behaviors in relation to their roles as men would develop a cognitive dissonance that would lead to a change in their behaviors. Five spiritual disciplines were identified in the lives of David and his mighty men and Jesus and his disciples and incorporated into the Cavetime Training Program (CTP). The project was conducted as a twelve-week, weekly small group experience. Specifically considered in this dissertation are the shame wounds of men. The degree of impact for this project was determined by five goals. The results conclude that HCG does positively impact the inner healing of men.
