Spiritual needs as declared by the very elderly are examined and discussed.  Material is drawn from pastoral involvement with two hundred-fifty parishioners all of whom are in the ninth and tenth decade of their pilgrimages.  The research method was active listening and observing, then recording parishioiners' subjective spiritual concerns.  Data was accumulated over ten years. As the past is reviewed the meaning of various situations and events can be reorganized and reintegrated into a more valid picture, giving new meaning to one's life and allowing the sense of ego integrity. It provides a legacy to the younger generation.  It can help a person cope with loss, grief, and depression.
