The goal was to improve the quality of 'spiritual' life of the participants through a primary focus of 'spiritual painting' accompanied by prayer, meditation, and Bible story reading. Most of the participants suffered from either or both mental and physical disability. Even though normal communication and activity participation was somewhat limited, meaningful qualitative and quantitative assessments were obtained. Two groups of ten from a retirement community participated in workshops where they received reading assignments from 'No Wrinkles on the Soul' by Richard Morgan every week for five weeks. Participants took a questionnaire before and took the same questionnaire at the end of five weeks to assess changes in perception of life satisfaction. The emphasis varied by individual, but all participants identified both gains and losses.
