The study was evaluated through participation, observation, and study that helped the author conclude that people benefit from a deeper understanding and greater education of others in community. This project used the equipping program model. The project director conducted research in the field of leading youth small groups. He selected college students and equipped them to teach youth small groups by going through the training material developed in this research project. This weekend training seminar culminated in a lab experience, which consisted of leading a youth small group. The project director began the project with research. Equipping the selected students concluded the project. Research included evangelism strategies and outdoor recreation that fit the context of the generation and local college campus. Upon completion of the research, the project director designed and implemented training to equip the selected students to use personal evangelism skills in conjunction with outdoor recreation. The project director researched resources in the field of mentoring and youth culture and developed an annotated bibliography and a curriculum with the help of experts in the field of education. The director created the training curriculum used in a seven-session workshop with a selected group of adults who volunteered to serve as mentors at the request of student mentees. The curriculum for the workshop was developed with the guidance of professionals in the area of curriculum and instructional design. The project is based on interviews of seventeen college students by a college chaplain at a Presbyterian, liberal arts college.
