Project development began by appointing a Senior Adult Ministry Strategy Team (SAMST) of twelve seniors from FBCO. The process of strategy development employed multiple steps using the SAMST. The project's first step explored senior adult demographic data of the church and the surrounding community. The findings from the demographic studies, extensive research of current literature, and exploration of best practices in selected churches, the planning team helped the director evaluate the overall health and effectiveness of FBCO's present ministry to senior adults. Using the findings of this evaluation the director, along with the SAMST, formulated a three-year strategic plan for ministry with older adults at FBCO. Finally, the director presented the plan to FBCO's senior pastor and associate pastor for their feedback and approval."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799718301438312448,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:32:00.848Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:11Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-05-22T02:05:38Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"68a16ac9-21e2-443c-a00e-ee2d6297ed29","accessControl_ssim":["16cbe633-b8aa-4cb8-a65b-466e1dfebe42"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Developing a Senior Ministry Strategy for Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church, Sugar Hill, Georgia"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:57:10Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T01:11:49Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["04b81539-a908-4a15-8cf1-9cce4252dc5d"],"hasLease_ssim":["86373332-d099-4da1-9a24-f7320fc5bff8"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jong Gil Lee Ph.D."],"year_tesim":["2022"],"location_tesim":["Georgia"],"resource_type_tesim":["D.Min. Driven by low birth rate, worldwide population aging is expected to accelerate in the future. Churches are also faced with a crisis in which the number of children and the younger generation going to church is falling and growth stalled. Strengthening the senior ministry, which is demanded by the world we live in today, is a mission Churches must take upon themselves and a way to change this crisis into an opportunity. The project director first conducted extensive research on materials related to senior ministry and based on vigorously researched theories, set specific directions for the senior ministry of a church to take. Then, through research and analysis of the unique environment of Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church, the project director carried out the process of developing an effective senior ministry strategy. The strategy was developed through a process of establishing a strategy development team within the Church and, through four meetings, building common understanding and gathering opinions, and conducting surveys. The finalized strategy was presented to the Church’s official committee and received approval. The outcomes of each state were sent three times to outside specialists, and the strategy was completed after making revisions based on their assessments. In this process, it was assessed that the ministerial goal of developing a senior ministry strategy as well as personal career development goal of enhancing knowledge of senior ministry and improving strategy development skills were sufficiently achieved. It is hoped that the developed senior ministry strategy is effectively practiced at Atlanta Bethany United Methodist Church and provides much help the Church and its congregation."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["New Orleans Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["5e492469-490e-44a3-90c1-17560a603bc2"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1799716643740319744,"timestamp":"2024-05-22T02:05:39.944Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:54:47Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:41:42Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"df72d3e4-973f-4008-aef8-dc87b1697d20","accessControl_ssim":["bd8d46e0-cb4c-42ea-ac59-eefee4e311c1"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Evaluating The Effectiveness Of The National Council Of Certified Dementia Practitioners' (Nccdp) Alzheimer'S Disease And Dementia Care Seminar For Use In The Local Church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T19:54:46Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:31:52Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["86e40afe-b6ac-4f17-b786-4fe0110890e2"],"hasLease_ssim":["8fe518dc-42a0-4967-a131-1b95cf197c12"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Doctor of Ministry"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jeanne R. Currently usedin professional healthcare settings, the curriculum was applied to the local church settingby leading interested church pastors, ministry leaders, volunteers, and family members orcaregivers of those who have been diagnosed with AD through the NCCDP training.Armed with a greater knowledge and understanding of the needs of Alzheimer’s patients, the long-term hope behind the project was that these church leaders and the churches they serve would then be able to develop more intentional programs to minister to theseindividuals and their families. In total, thirty-two participants from three different churches and one Zoomsession attended the seminar, which was conducted four times. An identical survey ofquestions rated on a Likert scale was given to the contributors before and after theseminar, providing the quantitative data for evaluation of the seminar’s effectiveness. The statistical analysis did reveal a significant improvement in how participants rated theirattitudes, perceptions, and knowledge of some facts regarding AD and the specificspiritual, physical, and emotional needs of individuals with AD. The findings lead to theconclusion that the NCCDP seminar could be an effective ministry tool for ministers andchurches interested in cultivating opportunities to serve the needs of individuals with ADin their communities, along with their families."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Dallas Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["8322f611-a593-413a-8bcd-0011fba52dc7"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131077208702976,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:41:45.651Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"D.Min.
