The study provides an opportunity to the Church, mission committees, and agencies to listen to and learn from the story of a team as it works with Scripture and available literature on dependency and interdependency in their efforts to live and work among the poor. This study is part of their journey. Circles, a program of Move the Mountain, initiates changes in the community that result in eliminating barriers to economic stability. The Circles model partners families in poverty with United Methodist church members so they can work together to end poverty. This project compares the socio-economic condition of the families in poverty prior to enrollment and six months later. The goal of this project entitled 'galvanizing faith and neighborhood based leaders to address poverty through the faithworks community development leadership institute,' is to provide faith and community-based leaders with the training, technical assistance and collaborative relationships needed to improve the quality of life of the poor.
