In the spring of 2005 the congregation began a journey to transition from serving a Sunday afternoon community meal into creating a Sunday evening ministry, which involved: serving dinners to the community, creating a worship service targeted to the un-churched, and increasing the present food pantry. The main theme of this program is the story of Israelites' liberation, focusing on the realization of God's covenant to suffering people. The practice of this program Sae-onyang Chuch, whose theological background is John Wesley's Christian education for children as a means of social holiness, shows the necessity of developing a program that has both religious and English educational effects. The author engaged three churches in three different cities to serve as pilot settings to establish a pro bono legal ministry in the local community.
