The project sought, through introducing them to persons from various hospital disciplines, to provide the holistic approach to caring for the sick and dying patient. Participants were given an opportunity to visit patient wards and to reflect upon their experience through the peer group process.  Participants were to read three books during the three months. The context of the project was a three week clinical course in hospital ministry based on the pastoral counseling theories of Adams, Hiltner, and Clinebell and Carl Rogers' ideas.  The results from the project revealed a bell-shaped pattern of change. This project to the physically ill is designed so that the materials and actual care contribute to spiritual and personal growth for those who visit and are visited. Effective visitation procedures are expected. This project report defines whole person medicine and traces biblical and historical precedents for the church's involvement in such an approach to health care.  Research material is drawn from interviews with 31 physicians and from personal experiences in dealing with cancer.  Material is included for a four-week seminar titled: 'Your faith and your health'.  Five sermons are also included.
