Worship services were videotaped and later played in homes of the sick.  The sick had fellowship with laity as they saw relatives and friends in the videotaped services.  They felt a part of the Body of Christ.  Laity fellowshipped in preparatory meetings prior to going into homes. The initial data were generated by a questionnaire specifically designed and directed to the fourteen congregational owners.  A provincial status was then developed and circulated, accompanied by a survey validation document. This project involves twelve weeks of training sessions that include: lectures, group dynamics, and personal visitation.  The effectiveness of the training is measured through the administration of pretraining and posttraining tests (Semantic Differential and Knowledge Questionnaires).  The test scores are compared to a control group which is similar to the training group in number of persons, gender, and age. Four students from Furman University participated.  The project design utilized a pre and postassessment of the students with a focused interview and three tests: the Theological School Inventory, Pastoral Counseling Response Scale, and Semantic Differential.  A didactic series on the minister as servant-shepherd was presented.  The students participated in reflection and supervision of visitation. The students developed greater awareness of themselves and ministry.
