The participants in this study were Christian women from various denominations who had experienced an offense that they found so egregious that it impacted their ability to move forward. The project examines human and divine forgiveness. Using the Scriptures, workshops, movies, writings and one-on-one counseling sessions with these participants, the dissertation also defines some of these offenses as they relate to similar offenses in the Bible. Christian spiritual formation is the process whereby Christians are conformed to the image of Christ. Extroverted Christian women (tested using Myers Briggs Type Indicator) participated in group practice of spiritual disciplines over a four month period. Quantitative analysis included a behavioral questionnaire and the Spiritual Assessment Inventory. Qualitative analysis was based on individual interviews. Results specifically from qualitative analysis support the possibility of change in attitude and behavior."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Denver Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["e7af129f-938f-4821-9463-dc6ded35d563"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791133645299253248,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T08:22:34.773Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:58:54Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:48:08Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"e009bf02-4997-451f-84ea-75d9100cbab2","accessControl_ssim":["0342df45-8139-4967-8e49-70c6f92c9203"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Hannah and her sisters: interpersonal relationships between women in the church"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:58:53Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T04:32:53Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["adf09e19-bf15-4f17-97c3-804832b536d8"],"hasLease_ssim":["06faf501-82eb-4af5-80b7-5f5ecfb9e0d6"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jennifer S Cook"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Barbara Joyce Brooks"],"keyword_tesim":["Religious surveys"],"publisher_tesim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Interpersonal relations","Church work with women","Conflict management"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["The purpose of the project was to create a resource that would facilitate healing for women who have been emotionally wounded in interpersonal relationships with other women in the church. The premise was that such personal conflicts can lead to emotional wounds, yet they are often met with silence and denial. A panel of experts evaluated the resource on a Likert agreement scale questionnaire. The two most prominent findings were that the resource teaches women to restore peaceful fellowship and reinforces the Christian love ethic. The experts indicated high agreement that all of the project goals were met."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Ashland Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["beb93775-0b27-4cc6-9fb0-f2ad62e68517"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["public","work_editor"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131481741983744,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:48:11.444Z","score":1.0},{"system_create_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:57:19Z","system_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T07:55:59Z","has_model_ssim":["Etd"],"id":"482035df-2da4-4954-864a-0e1101687445","accessControl_ssim":["7ee09bc5-6080-456a-af5c-38a7c076fe28"],"depositor_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"depositor_tesim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"title_tesim":["Women and the enduring word: an equipping hermeneutic for women teaching women"],"date_uploaded_dtsi":"2023-10-12T13:57:18Z","date_modified_dtsi":"2024-02-17T00:14:38Z","isPartOf_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8"],"hasEmbargo_ssim":["c051c839-8270-4cc9-94b8-9d7bff41fb19"],"hasLease_ssim":["43272722-ef9d-456e-a673-a2045dd6bedf"],"show_pdf_viewer_tesim":["1"],"show_pdf_download_button_tesim":["1"],"institution_tesim":["Atla RIM"],"degree_tesim":["Unknown"],"degree_granting_institution_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"advisor_tesim":["Jason K Lee"],"year_tesim":["2011"],"resource_type_tesim":["Unknown"],"types_tesim":["Text"],"creator_tesim":["Ashley C Smith"],"keyword_tesim":["Attitude towards women","Contextual Bible study"],"publisher_tesim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"subject_tesim":["Women in church work","Bible--Criticism, interpretation","Paul, the Apostle, Saint","Church work with women"],"language_tesim":["English"],"abstract_tesim":["This dissertation purports the idea that women can and should learn hermeneutic skills that allow them to interpret the Bible with confidence and to train other women to do the same. It demonstrated the need for theologically conservative women to write and teach other women how to study the Bible in a way faithful to principles of interpretation. The importance of authorial intent is emphasized rather than reader-centered approaches. The instruction of Paul in Titus 2:3-5 as applied to gender-specific hermeneutic suggests that offering women skills for interpretation envisions their unique learning styles and affirms Paul's instruction. Women should use hermeneutical principles of context, exegesis, theological analysis and genre applying these to use by women. Factors related to women teaching women include: intimacy, emotional connection, relationships, details, and the power of small group settings. Finally consideration is made of producing a book on this subject."],"rights_statement_tesim":["https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC/1.0/"],"thumbnail_path_ss":"/assets/work-a3b75da7abded620ab321410c80d102e5e2417b71c54de7ba7d4b0363da904f7.png","suppressed_bsi":false,"actionable_workflow_roles_ssim":["f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-approving","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-depositing","f6c99b2a-5c91-4444-8946-01a1837f1fd8-default-managing"],"workflow_state_name_ssim":["deposited"],"member_of_collections_ssim":["Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary"],"member_of_collection_ids_ssim":["b2ad2862-737d-4dde-8145-b9b6962ac5f3"],"visibility_ssi":"open","admin_set_tesim":["Metadata Only"],"account_cname_tesim":["rim.ir.atla.com"],"human_readable_type_tesim":["Etd"],"read_access_group_ssim":["work_editor","public"],"edit_access_group_ssim":["admin"],"edit_access_person_ssim":["ckarpinski@atla.com"],"_version_":1791131975491256320,"timestamp":"2024-02-17T07:56:02.320Z","score":1.0}],"facets":[{"name":"resource_type_sim","items":[{"value":"Unknown","hits":3,"label":"Unknown"},{"value":"D.Min.
