Trinity Baptist Church is located in a city that is seeing phenomenal growth and change, from being a small farming community to the second largest municipality in Orange County, Florida.  Many of the people moving to our community are members of the Bridger Generation, which is the second largest generation in American history.  This generation is very different from previous generations.  The challenge for the church is to develop a strategy to evangelize the young adults.  This project researched strategic methods used to evangelize young adults.  Upon completion of the research, the project director led a select group of young adults to create a strategy to evangelize young adults in Apopka, Florida. The equipping program model was utilized in this project.  Project participants took a pre-test to determine the level of their knowledge of deacon ministry, their understanding of the biblical qualities of a deacon's life, and their comfort level if they were to be chosen as a deacon. Development of the project included the preparation and delivery of doctrinal sermons and the utilization of young adults within the congregation, ages 20 to 39, as recipients and resources to provide sermon analysis.  The project director utilized the ministry-skill enhancement model.  Six doctrinal surveys were completed by the participants prior to a six-part doctrinal sermon series. The purpose of this project is to explore the core needs of 'Generation X' and practical ways the Christian Church might address those needs. The research on this project is conducted through interviews with 'Generation X' members of Second Presbyterian Church in Chattanooga, TN, and 'Gen X' individuals who are not members of any particular church. Pastors of churches that are prospering in ministry to 'Generation X' were also interviewed. Six participants (18-35 years old) had lunch six times with the preacher. They gave sermon feedback, discussed the upcoming lectionary texts, and participated in an exit interview.
